12 hour course for physiotherapy that satisfies the Arizona Board of Chiropractic requirements for chiropractic assistants. Purchasing this class provides access to the 12 hour course only.
This course covers a variety of passive and active therapeutic modalities seen in rehabilitation clinics. Students will cover heat, ice, ultrasound, diathermy, interferential, surge, pulse, russian stim, TENs, intersegmental traction, cervical decompression, lumbar decompression, class III lasers, class IV lasers, Graston Technique, manual therapy, shockwave therapy, vibration, neuromuscular taping, proprioception, and stretching. Red flags and contraindications are emphasized for each modality.
Treatment progressions and common mistakes are emphasized for each treatment modality. Emphases are placed on avoiding common treatment application mistakes such as hot pack burns. Students are given overview of common spinal and extremity conditions and treatment progressions through acute, subacute, and rehabilitation stages.
Significant emphasis are placed upon low back therapeutic exercises and stretches for patients of all ages, especially older patients.
Treatment progressions and patient case studies help students become effective additions to rehabilitation clinics.
